Our Team

Leif Jessen

CEO and Co-founder Leif Jessen brings more than 15 years of software engineering experience, as well as a keen entrepreneurial spirit, to Blue Coast Web. As an enterprise software architect, he uses his deep understanding of technology and emerging Open Source Software tools to help companies determine which blend of software solutions will best meet their long-term needs. Mr. Jessen then manages his team of developers to transform those clients' visions into business applications that automate everything from inventory management and supply chain processing to online shopping and business process automation.

Prior to starting Blue Coast Web, Mr. Jessen provided independent engineering consultation and managed the entire software development process for several software companies including Cacheon, Buzzsaw (an Autodesk subsidiary) and IXL. At IXL, he worked directly with startups and larger clients such as Ford and Virgin Atlantic Airlines.

Mr. Jessen earned his B.A.s from University of California Berkeley, and a Masters from University of California, San Diego.

Ann Douglas Jessen

Creative Director and Co-founder Ann Douglas Jessen has over ten years of experience working in the digital interactive space, having worked with such clients as Ford, Schwab, EMAP, LVMH, MasterCard and Yahoo. Her expertise lies in creative management and interactive design, including corporate brand development, information design, identity design and collateral production.

Ann has been working as an independent consultant through her privately held company, 3 Limes, Inc. since 2001, before founding Blue Coast Web with her partner in 2005. Prior to that Ann worked as a Creative Lead with the consultancy firm Viant, where she was based in San Francisco, but worked on long-term projects in their London office.

Ann graduated with a degree in Fine Art from U.C. Davis, after which she worked in an advertising agency working on everything from Heavenly's ski trail maps and radio advertisements to various client's billboards, annual reports and collateral campaigns before moving into the web space in 1995.
